Mostra is more than a festival: it seeks to offer an alternative experience that brings us closer to the city. We want those who call Barcelona their home to make this position their own and to feel it belongs to them. That's why we're working to create a network in the scene among collectives, labels, artists, record shops, and other agents in the city.

Because we believe that the new normal must be to cooperate and create community. Barcelona needs a festival like Mostra: we are here to join forces and become a benchmark for a new type of festival with its own identity, committed to what’s local, what’s inclusive, and what’s sustainable.” More on the festival

In August, it’s been two years since we loaded up a set of music to form the first 9128.live site. We didn’t know the additional weekend takeovers would be such an escape for us all during the lockdowns and a way to connect, keep a small community together and discover even more new music, but they formed some of our fondest memories over the past two years. So we’ll be celebrating this milestone with another marathon takeover on August 20th. Stay tuned and load up on sleep, the lineup will take us back-to-back with brilliant music over three consecutive days.

Takeover: Lāsya Festival

Flyer1.jpeg

The term Lāsya, in the context of Hindu mythology, describes the dance performed by Goddess Parvati as it expresses love, care, happiness and is filled with grace and beauty. The Lāsya was the second phase of creation, in response to Shiva's Tandava dance that gave birth to the Universe. It combined to form the triad, "laya", "pralaya" & “shunya” - the cyclic motion of things from resonance to dissolution, from stillness to movement, from sound to silence, and such represents the dialectical "being-nonbeing-becoming". In a literal sense, Lāsya means softer, it is the divine feminine nature in all of us which manifests as beauty, happiness, enchanting, and grace.

We may be silenced by law, but our nature is movement. ~ We are joining together on this dance, 11 by number, for a 13h of exclusive live stream takeover on 9128.live.

Event begins at 5am PDT / 2pm CET.

Takeover: Rapture Network

teaser.png

Hidden from view in a small cubby of the internet there resides a close-knit tribe. Gathering from almost every continent, from all ages, they come daily to share the music they love and discuss the psychedelic culture that inspires them.

It’s a community built of shared excitement, musical obsession, mutual respect and loving vibrations. DJs, producers, dancers, video artists, collectors, visualisers, label owners, party promoters… and all listeners… with a shared vision, and a common ear.

Rapture Network is “basically a trance group”. But trance in the very broadest and most imaginative sense. Hear what they love and what they do on May 14-16, as we host 50+ DJs for an expanse of music, creativity and ideas.

Enter the Rapture. Enjoy this trip.

En Pausa 1.0.2 Blanco.jpg

Madrid’s La Casa Encendida opens En Pausa Music Festival, a horizontal music event that provides an alternative to the traditional way we have conceived concerts until recently. The festival aims to vindicate deep listening in a frenetic fast-track environment and reacts against the immediacy of high-speed connectivity imposed on us and dividing our attention.

On Sunday April 18th, musicians from every corner of the globe will come together to play a 12-hour program that will be broadcasted here in 9128.live and La Casa Encendida Radio.

Curated by a_mal_gam_a from the CALMA collective, Sunday's program will feature twelve uninterrupted hours of DJ-sets and performances by Alex Albrecht, Ario, ASIP, Chris SSG, Federico Duránd, Gigi FM, Karim, Klara Vedis and Patricia Wolf and live performances by Jo Johnson & Hilary Robinson.

MOTD_9128.jpg

Mysteries of the Deep is thrilled to announce a weekend livestream event, hosted by our friends at 9128.live – featuring 40+ hours of ambient/experimental music (DJs, live sets, and exclusive label premieres) – beginning Friday April 17 at 5pm PST / 8pm EST.⁣⁣

The COVID-19 global pandemic has touched so many lives within our community and around the world. During the event, we’ll provide links on 9128.live to charities and organizations supporting the relief effort. One of the easiest ways to support artists directly is by purchasing their music, so we’re curating an extensive buymusic.club playlist of their releases on Bandcamp. This will be available on the 9128.live site at the start of the event. Should be an incredible weekend of music. We hope you tune in, and greatly appreciate your support.

The Life of Lines” Recorded 2015-2020. Assembled February-April 2020 in Portland, OR.
"This commonality, I believe, lies in the operation I have called ‘inversion’, of turning the world in on itself so that its lines and movements of growth become boundaries of containment...Historical geographer Kenneth Olwig traces this inversion to the theatrical conceits of the early seventeenth century, when the world began to be recreated on stage and viewed through a proscenium arch. This was actually a world brought indoors, and its meteorological effects had to be simulated by means of props and pyrotechnics." -Tim Ingold

We’ll be asking for a small donation of anything you can spare, to be split between Astral Industries (to help recoup the thousands lost on the cancellation), the artists involved and the South London Refugee Association, who provide expert advice, specialist services and effective support (made even harder given the current situation) to refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in South London.

Your donation means a lot - thank you!
